The official firmware provided for PortaPack equips you with several decoders and transmitters, but for optimal utility, consider using third-party firmware providing additional decoding and transmitting options.
Key Features:
Progress of work: The improved program validation prototype has been completed based on the latest documents of May 2017.
Catching and Replay: The standout feature of PortaPack is its efficiency at catching & replaying wireless signals. Access the ‘Catching’ menu – input your remote key frequency, record through red ‘R’ Record button, save it to an SD Card to reproduce it later whenever needed.
Microphone TX: Plug a microphone into audio jack featured in PortaPack and use it as Push-To-Talk or voice-activated walkie-talkie radio. Also features CTCSS tone options for transmissions to wireless headphones.
Other Transmitters: This mode allows custom data programming essential for experimentation with simple key fobs or home automation switches; usage should be limited inside a Faraday cage due to certain regulatory constraints,
Receivers: Connect speakers to listen in on NFM & WFM audio signals via 3.5mm audio jack equipped on this device which offers aircraft reception enabled by selecting certain symbols displayed on top right hand corner (fulmination icon).

The PortaPack is specifically designed for your HackRF One software-defined radio and isn’t compatible with older HackRF design or RF shields installed in HackRF but experimental compatibility is observed with HackRF Blue.
Please note that PortaPack requires an external battery (best operated with USB-connected batteries), and its receive sensitivity varies among different bands which might not opt as well as a designated ham radio receiver.
